About Face Fit Testing

Face Fit Testing is a method that is used to identify how fitting a facepiece matches an individual. An inappropriate facepiece will substantially reduce the needed protection, so it is required to meet the safety criteria.

Furthermore, there are two types of Face Fit Testing - qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative method is specifically designed for testing of filtering facepieces (disposable masks) and half masks but not full face masks, as it is based on tasting or smelling a bitter, sweet or odorous compound. Whereas quantitative is designed for all types of masks and is also known as Fit Factor. It is based on numerical calculations of the efficiency of the fit.

About Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough is a large town situated on the south bank of the River Tees in North East England, that sits within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. The local authority is Middlesbrough Borough Council. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, in 1968 the town became the centre of the County Borough of Teesside, which was absorbed by the non-metropolitan county of Cleveland in 1974. In 1996 Cleveland was abolished, and Middlesbrough became a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. Middlesbrough is different from the other districts on Teesside, as the borough is almost entirely urbanised, thus making it the largest town in terms of area and population, but the smallest district. However, the areas of Eston, Grangetown, Normanby, Ormesby, and South Bank in the neighbouring borough of Redcar and Cleveland, are also part of the Middlesbrough agglomeration. To the northeast of Middlesbrough lies the Tees Estuary, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) away. A few miles to the south lies the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Teesport, the UK's third largest port, lies 3 miles (4.8 km) to the east, and Durham Tees Valley Airport lies 8 miles (13 km) to the west, near Darlington.
